Chery has officially returned to the Indonesian market after several years ago saying he had stopped doing business in the country. The statement was made directly by the President Director of PT Chery Motor Indonesia, Tao Yong at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Hybrid 2022 exhibition, at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Thursday (31/3/2022).
On the same occasion, Tao also mentioned that this time Chery was different because he had a new strategy and commitment. One of them is ready to set up an assembly plant to make it more competitive. The era of motorized vehicle electrification did not escape the attention of the Chinese manufacturer. Therefore, in the first introduction, Chery also brought EQ1. This tiny electric car stands with Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, Omoda 5, and Skytour at IIMS 2022. It is stated that related products will later be present in the domestic market as Chery is serious about doing business. So what are the specifications of this EQ1? Based on the specification sheet, the car has very compact dimensions with a length of 3,200 mm, a width of 1,670 mm, a height of 1,550 mm and a wheelbase of 2,150 mm.
The slim body, combined with a compact sized Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor. But don't be fooled, the maximum power can reach 40.7 hp and 120 Nm of torque. To support daily activities, the EQ1 is equipped with a Lithium-Ion battery with a large enough capacity of 30.6 kWh. So that it can cover a distance of up to 301 kilometers when full. Regarding charging, the EQ1 battery is claimed to be able to be charged quickly by 30-80 percent in just 30 minutes. The features embedded in this tiny car are quite simple, namely, ABS brakes, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Power Battery Protection System.
