GIIAS 2021, Hyundai Presents EV Prophecy Concept Car and Kona Electric


PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) participated in the most prominent international automotive event in Indonesia, the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021 from 11 - 21 November 2021 at ICE, BSD City.

At the exhibition, HMID carried the theme 'Indonesia: Into the Spotlight of Innovations', to reflect Indonesia's current position in the spotlight in Asia and one of the emerging economic powers.

This is also in line with Hyundai's vision of supporting Indonesia to become one of the innovation centers of the world automotive industry.

Hyundai established the largest booth over an area of ​​2,479 square meters in Hall 5-6, in order to optimize customer satisfaction while adhering to strict health protocols.
The booth area is divided into several zones, namely: Hyundai's current flagship product line zone; latest product and innovation zones; future zone of Hyundai's EV ecosystem; corporate zone; and interactive zones.
Prophecy is a visionary concept that expresses Hyundai's latest design, Sensuous Sportiness. Prophecy features advanced aerodynamic concepts, which are indispensable characteristics for an EV.
Prophecy also uses autonomous driving technology. On the steering side, this EV concept car has two joysticks to control the car when turning which are placed in the middle and side of the door, so that the driver can control it comfortably.
In addition, Hyundai also showcased E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), a future platform for EVs developed by Hyundai Motor. Hyundai is in the process of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045 by neutralizing CO2 emissions at all stages of production and operations.

By implementing the platform, Hyundai will launch at least 23 new EV models by the end of 2025 and will supply more than one million EVs worldwide.
E-GMP will provide many important benefits for Hyundai EV models, such as being more compact so as to optimize space and weight; improve power efficiency,

the ability to use the same battery capacity but provide more mileage; much faster battery charging; and make the EV even more comfortable to drive.
During the GIIAS 2021 show, Hyundai Motors Indonesia will certainly present its current line of EV products,

Namely KONA Electric and IONIQ Electric, which are Hyundai's flagship EV product lines that have received positive response from Indonesian automotive consumers.

Hyundai also brought KONA Electric with the signature of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which was signed during the President's visit to Ulsan, South Korea on November 26, 2019.
